Short trip to Amsterdam and Antwerp on my way to India. Amsterdam is just a really cool city to be in. Pro tip, you must get a slice of the apple pie at Winkel 43. Actually, get two, or even ten.
Antwerp was mainly (all) about the beer. I've always steered towards the trappist style beers and this was beer heaven.

Egypt, December 2016
One of the most memorable trips taken where my wife and I were transformed 3000 years back in time. The pyramids are the main draw but no trip to Egypt is complete without a visit to Luxor, the world's largest open air museum.
A favorite moment of mine was staring at Rameses II's toppled visage and being reminded of these lines from middle-school:

Bikes, bikes, bikes everywhere! Among the world's friendliest cities to cyclists, they know what sustainable transport is. And yes the yogurt at Grod is delectable.

A short, but really exciting trip to Tokyo. The distinctive neighborhoods gave me the same vibe as San Francisco, albeit with a much better public transit system. When they say that a train will arrive at 07:29 am, it sure as heck arrives at that time! Don't believe me? Read this
Dubai, January 2015
Although I spent the first 17 years of my life in Dubai, I was blown away by the changes to this once sleepy town in the Middle East. The view from quite high up the Burj Khalifa really made it clear to me how things have changed in my hometown.

Super short trip (2 days) to this beautiful country filled with beautiful people. The highlight, however, was the amazing crab we ate at the Ministry of Crab, a restaurant run by two fantastic Sri Lankan former cricketers, Mahela Jayawardane and Kumar Sangakarra.
